Track Sound

You are here:
Estimated reading time: 1 min

It assists in calculating which sound to play for a given train and track combination. A track may define interaction with a number of train bogeys, and a train vehicle may define interaction with a number of tracks.

When a supported asset is loaded into the game environment, its track-sound entries are scanned. These entries are then available to match any assets according to the criteria specified in the track-sound entry. While it is recommended that track-sound entries relate only to their parent asset, this is not strictly enforced. If no matching track-sound entry can be found for a given query, the default track sound <KUID:-3:10194> is used.

 track-sound <kuid:123456:123456>
 bogey       <kuid:123456:123456>
 priority     1
 }
}

bogey – Bogey asset, in which case this entry only affects the specified bogey. If omitted, the type of bogey is not checked.

track-sound – Specifies the KIND Tracksound asset which should be used if this entry is selected as the best match.

priority – An integer which indicates whether this entry should be selected in favor of other matching entries. This should be used to fine-tune minor conflicts, not to attempt to force an asset to override every other possible match. Lower numbers denote better matches.

How to Edit Custom Basic Sound?

The original address where the files are located:

C:\Program Files\N3V Games\Trainz Plus\resources\builtin\base\content\kuid2 570470 100003 2\sounds
It is important to note that you must not delete the files and I do not recommend editing the length of the audio track either!

But you can edit the files. The best way to achieve this is, for example, through Audacity. Drag and drop the audio track into the program. In the top menu, select Effects / Volume and Compression / Amplify. In amplification, select negative values to absolute minus to mute the sound. Or insert another audio track and edit it to have the same time. Then Save this file in Other Format Ctrl + Shift + E  (WAW)
