If you download the DEM data, it is necessary to edit it with a program that can be purchased, the size of the fields must be adapted to the game, i.e. set to 10 m, for some complex and large dimensions, this process is lengthy and demanding on the computer’s performance. Therefore, if you have data that you want to use, you must expect that the program will use up the computer to its full capacity.

Always insert a new map into the program and edit it to 10 m, after mallow save with “suffix_t”, as you edit these maps, start from the first edited file and add more maps with the Add DEM button.. be careful here: the more files, the more challenging for processing!

If we have a finished map, it can now be cropped using the Create Control Points (F6) tool. You will create points that connect to each other see the image above. With another tool, the map can be cut out by clicking on the “scissors” Erase DEM points (Ctrl+D), clicking on the outside of the marked points will delete everything that is outside the reserved area.

Be careful with the files you add Keep in mind that the very process of creating a map in the program for DEM data and in the Component Manager program itself can strain the computer, or even cause the system to "blue death" with lower performance!

For the Trainz 2006 game; 2009; 2010; 2012 and New Era it is possible to supply elevation maps using DEM data, this data is mostly freely available on various websites of measurement research companies interested in geodesy and geographic data research.
